Friendship is proud to present Officer J. A. Johnson, Crime Prevention Specialist, from the Roanoke City Police Department as he demonstrates the importance of having a secure digital presence and how to protect oneself from online scams.
At the presentation, Officer Johnson will identify a number of important steps that need to be taken to aid an investigation and, most importantly, to avoid further victimization in an identity theft problem. The focus will be on what to do to prevent cyber-attacks or scams and what to do if you find yourself a victim of such an attack. Attendees will learn the best practices for defending their online security, how to properly contact authorities if they become a victim, and how to warn others.
Participation is limited to 50 people and RSVP’s are now being accepted. To learn more information about the program, or to RSVP, call (540) 283-4433.
