About This Masterclass

A relationship with a civic organization expands participants? business and social networks, and it raises awareness of opportunities to engage in meaningful civic activities. Those networks and civic activities can result in strong relationships with long-lasting benefits far beyond what is possible through traditional business networking.

Through engaging discussions and brief exercises, participants will explore how they can experience a business boost from a civic organization relationship. Participants may even have the opportunity to ask the session facilitator to tell a CIA story or two.

About the Speaker: Mike O'Brochta

Mike O'Brochta is a member and recent Past President of the Kiwanis Club of Roanoke, the largest civic organization in the Roanoke Valley and one of the largest of the 15,000+ Kiwanis clubs in the world.

He is a former member and Chair of the Ethics Committee for the Project Management Institute, one of the largest professional organizations in the world. Mike worked in engineering and project management for over thirty years at the CIA, where he led the development of highly complex top-secret projects, programs, and systems, and helped mature project management and systems engineering practices agency-wide.

As founder of Zozer Inc., he helped develop and implement the government-wide Federal Acquisition Certification for Program and Project Managers. He has written and spoken extensively about project management and leadership and, since climbing another of the world's seven summits, has been exploring the relationship between project management and mountain climbing.
