Date: Sunday, September 10th
Location: Explore Park, Roanoke (just off the Blue Ridge Parkway)
Time: 1:30pm – 3:30pm
Participants will check-in for the event at the blue tents setup in the parking lot of the Explore Park Visitor Center. At check-in participants will receive their t-shirts, hiking bags with swag, directions and a wrist band. Participants will choose from two different self-guided hiking routes (easy and intermediate) to lead them to the main event area. There will be volunteers posted along the hiking routes to answer questions or offer assistance.
MAIN EVENT
The main event will include:
• Live Bluegrass music by the talented Easter Divide Band
• Lunch off the grill (burgers, hotdogs, veggie burgers and chips) and ice cream catered by Hethwood Market
• Games including jumbo jenga, slacklines, cornhole, and more
• Optional group hike excursions lead by Walkabout Outfitters, click here to download a copy of the excursion hike routes.
• A memorial ceremony with dove release at the end of the event
Participants will be able to come and go as they please from the main event area. Here are lots of trails throughout Explore Park. So after the initial hike into the main event and after enjoying a filling lunch with all the festivities, feel free to EXPLORE! Food will be served at the main event area throughout the entirety of the event time. Please note, dogs are unfortunately not allowed to attend Roanoke County sponsored events.
VIP FARM-TO-TABLE DINNER
Participants who have registered for the VIP Farm-to-Table Dinner will be invited to hike further into the park to the Historic Houtz Barn to enjoy a lovely locally-sourced meal catered by Blue Ridge Catering.
As part of the VIP Farm-to-Table Dinner, participants will enjoy locally-sourced BBQ, chicken, salads, sides, beer and wine. This wonderful meal experience will take place in front of the Historic Houtz Barn in the heart of Explore Park. There will be live bluegrass music as participants feast on their well-deserved meal after their hike through the park.
VIP participants are also welcome to enjoy all the festivities at the Main Event area (band, vendors, optional excursion hikes, etc.) after or before their VIP Farm-to-Table Dinner at the Houtz Barn location.

***All participants who pre-register are guaranteed to receive a Hike for Hospice t-shirt. Those who raise more than $100.00 on their fundraising pages will receive a special Hike for Hospice Hero long sleeved t-shirt.

Student – $25.00
Team (4 or more members): $25.00 each
With registration all participants will receive a complimentary hiking bag with swag from our sponsors and t-shirts will be given out on a “first come, first served” basis for those who register on the day of.

Participants who had pre-registered for the main event, but decide they would like to participate in the VIP Farm-to-Table Dinner once they arrive at the event, may register on the day of event to attend the VIP Farm-to-Table Dinner by paying the difference of their registration fee at the check in tents.
***VIP Farm-to-Table participants will receive a Hike for Hospice t-shirt (only guaranteed for those who pre-register) and a hiking bag with their registration. VIP participants are also eligible to receive a special Hike for Hospice Hero long sleeved t-shirt if they raise $100.00 or more from their online fundraising pages.
