Friday, January 25 – Saturday, January 26, 2019
The 12th Annual Roanoke Regional Writers Conference at Hollins is the perfect event to learn, grow, and connect with other writers in the area. The snow date is February 1-2, 2019. We are pleased to welcome award-winning R.S. Belcher as our keynote speaker. On Friday night, he’ll share the “Before and After” of his journey in the publishing industry, and how writing has always been a part of him. Long before the sales and contracts comes the love of writing, which gives us the ability to handle the climb and struggles in our personal and professional lives. Belcher discusses writing as a coping skill for the things and events in his life, and how that has led to his success. The conference begins on Friday night with the welcome, introductions, and the keynote kickoff. We’ll have a “Couch Q&A” with a few of our presenters, which also includes an open forum, so bring plenty of questions! Saturday begins with registration at 8:30 a.m., with classes starting at 9 a.m. Make sure to bring pen and paper, as well as any writing samples you might want to share in particular classes.
