The Roanoke Works Center is the region’s comprehensive One Stop resource for job seekers and businesses located in the Roanoke Valley looking for employment, training, or other workplace related services.
JOB SEEKER SERVICES
Job seekers have free access to computers, internet, fax machine, copier, and scanner to conduct their job search and research job opportunities in the region. You can schedule a time to meet with our Works Center staff who will help you get started and further enhance your job search. You will also have access to on-site job fairs and workshops to help you increase your skills and better connect with employers.

- Resource room for online job searching
- Unemployment insurance information and filing
- Special programs for target populations
BUSINESS SERVICES
Business can access the following resources at the Roanoke Works Center:
- Free online labor exchange system including job posting and resume search capabilities
- Pre-screened job candidates based on employment qualifications
- Local resources for training existing and potential employees
- Information on federal and state grants, hiring incentives and tax credits
- Current and relevant workforce and business-related data to support your business decisions
- Local resources in economic development, finance, and marketing

A number of special programs are available for veterans, low income individuals, older Americans, young people, and others with barriers to employment. You can access more than a dozen partner agencies either on site or through a community referral system.
