Description
Women of the Chamber Luncheon Series: Love Yourself First
According to a report from the U.S Bureau of Labor Statistics, men spend more time than women ? about 33 minutes per day ? in some sort of leisure activity, such as watching TV, socializing, or exercising. Why is that?We tend to think of leisure as a luxury. When time gets tight, it?s usually the first thing to go. For our first Women of the Chamber Luncheon of 2019, we?re going to focus on slowing down and taking some time for yourself. We?re excited to have Abby Reed, a yoga instructor with Roanoke County Parks & Recreation, join us for lunch and a discussion about the mental and physical benefits of yoga.
Trust us, yoga isn?t just about bending yourself into funny positions while breathing heavily. It can help you relax your mind and get rid of unnecessary stress in your life.

Meet Abby Reed
Abby is a certified yoga instructor who focuses her classes on practical poses for physical health, mental rejuvenation and self-confidence. She has taught a variety of programs ranging from youth wellness to prenatal workshops to corporate yoga classes. As a prior athlete, Abby has experienced the power of a regular yoga practice. ?Yoga allows people to step into a room away from the rest of the world; it?s imperative to give yourself an outlet each day where you feel free from responsibilities, deadlines, to-do lists and meetings. A yoga practice gives people the space, mentally and physically, to just breathe. To take a break. To let go. To rest."
