About Us

Hollins University's undergraduate program offers 28 degrees in the physical sciences, social sciences, arts, and humanities. The university's coed graduate program features master's degrees in children's book literature and illustration, creative writing, dance, liberal studies, playwriting, screenwriting and film studies, and teaching. Undergraduates can also gain practical experience that complements any field of study through Hollins' Batten Leadership Institute. Through BLI, students elevate their communication skills, learn to navigate difficult conversations, and join a mentoring community that continues long after graduation. BLI also develops professional leaders through customized organizational training and formal certificate programs. Participants across industries gain skills in dealing with conflict and change; improving team functioning and decision making; refining emotional intelligence and resiliency; learning research on feedback and neuroleadership; and understanding culture embedded in systems. Ongoing individual coaching is also available through BLI's Executive Leadership Program.
