Friendship Health Appoints Brandon Evans As New Administrator for Friendship South

Friendship Health, a leader in skilled nursing and post-acute care, has announced the selection of Brandon Evans as its new Administrator for Friendship South.

Evans came to Friendship from The Glebe, where he started as the Director of Nursing and was later promoted to Administrator of Health Services.

“We are excited to have Brandon join our team,” said Ben Higgins, Director of Operations of Friendship Health. “He brings a strong clinical background that is a wealth of experience from all levels of healthcare.  His leadership will be integral as we continually strive to provide the best care for our residents, all the while encourage and mentor our team members.”

Evans began his healthcare career as a nursing assistant at Roanoke Memorial Hospital, earning his Certified Nursing Assistant Certificate, as well as his LPN license.  He later served at the Virginia Veterans Care Center, where he obtained his Registered Nursing license from Virginia Western Community College.
While serving at The Glebe, Evans completed the Administrator in Training program, earning his license as well as his bachelor’s degree from Jefferson College of Health Sciences.  During his tenure, Evans served on the program advisory panel for the Botetourt Technical Educational Center’s Nurse Aide program, as well as EPCI University’s advisory panel.  He also served as a mentor to aspiring MDS Coordinators through the American Association of Nurse Assessment Coordination (AANAC).

Evans is RAC-CT certified, which is the nationally recognized gold standard in resident assessment in the long-term care nursing profession. By earning this certification, individuals have shown their expertise in skilled nursing facility prospective payment system and minimum data set (MDS 3.0) assessment.

“I joined Friendship as I was impressed with the various services that the organization offers to the greater Roanoke Valley,” said Evans.  “I’m excited about the culture the Friendship team is developing, as it matches my personal values.”
